Two articles of this issue of Business Dimension allow the
beginning of this editorial reflection. The scientific article
corresponding to Araya & otros (2019), of the personality
theme of the brand and that of Mondroño (2019). They
reflect: 1. on aspects of the personality of the Firefighter
brand based on characteristics set for humans and, 2. the
love professed by people to companies. This goes beyond
classic customer satisfaction. It is remarkable that, in the
most orthodox psychological terms of the last century, it
could be typified as a personification - metonymy or
anthropomorphism? - or a philia. The versions proposed by
these authors are relevant not only because of the
argumentation made, but also because they allow us to
reflect on what Damasio (2009) called the relationship
between sensation and feeling and which, for this case, leads
to the question from the administration of companies: Can
companies be embodied and have loving relationships, or
comparable feelings, ¿with the brands that represent them?
What are the ethical limits from which to think about
marketing, for example, from the current explanatory
paradigms of evolutionism?
It is interesting to rescue this relationship, inasmuch as a
whole series of concepts that are important to touch, we
must see.
First, the political. According to Weber (2002), legitimacy is
built on the basis of pre-existing legality. When we talk
about innovative facts, we assume that the legitimate also
refers to social norms and rules. But, it has to be accepted,
in reference to rules and regulations, that the essence of
empresas y tener relaciones amorosas, o sentimientos
